Frequently asked questions
Q. Who/what is Waterside Arts?
A. Waterside Arts is a sister company of The Leith Gallery. The Leith Gallery is one of Scotland's foremost galleries showing Scottish Conntemporary Art. It won the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild Award for Excellence in Art Retailing. Whilst The Leith Gallery specialises in originals, Waterside Arts specialises in prints.
Q. What do you mean by limited edition?
A. All limited edition prints sold by Waterside Arts have been certified by the artist and publisher as being a total edition size worldwide with the artists proofs, also numbered and stated, as the only addition to that number. No other prints have or will be produced using that image in any form or size.
Q. What is a giclee print?
A. Giclee is the generic name given to digital prints. Those sold by Waterside Arts are printed on the very best paper with pigmented inks. If treated as you would a watercolour they will last as long as a watercolour.
Q. How will the prints I purchase be sent?
A. All prints are be sent flatpack. Heavy duty packing board is used so that the prints are not damaged in transit. With the high quality papers used it is not advisable to roll the prints in a tube.
Q. Why are the prints not framed?
A. Glazed work is easily broken in transit and the glass can then scratch the print. We can recommend local framers if requested. Of course if Edinburgh is convenient to you we can organise framing here in our workshop.
Q. How can I order and pay for prints?
A. There is a secure payment system on this site
Q Can I purchase an original work by one of the artist's shown?
